The grand hall, yours for the occasion
The grand first-floor hall at Saints of Ingram is the room people picture when they imagine a historic Glasgow venue. A vast, light-filled Georgian space inside Hutchesons’ Hall, on Ingram Street in the Merchant City, hired exclusively for wedding receptions, corporate events and private celebrations. One of the few event spaces in the city centre set inside a Category A listed landmark.

THE ROOM
Scale you feel the moment the doors open.
The first-floor hall is the showpiece of Hutchesons’ Hall. A double-height Georgian room of tall arched windows, columns and ornate plasterwork, with a sweeping staircase added when the architect John Baird reworked the interior in 1876. It is one of the most striking private event spaces in Glasgow’s Merchant City, and one of very few set inside a Category A listed building.
The room is genuinely flexible: it dresses for a banquet, clears for a dance floor, or sets up for a conference, and it carries an occasion the moment guests walk in. By day the light fills it; after dark it belongs to chandeliers and candlelight.

How many guests can the hall hold?
The first-floor hall holds around 60 seated for a dinner and up to 150 standing for a reception or party. Depending on your event, it can be set with long banquet tables, scattered rounds, a boardroom or theatre layout, or cleared for a dance floor.
Can we hire the hall exclusively?
Yes. The first-floor hall is always hired on an exclusive basis, so the entire room is yours for the occasion, dressed and arranged to suit your event.
How do we enquire or check a date?
Every enquiry is handled personally by email. Send your date, rough numbers and the kind of event you have in mind, and one point of contact will look after it from there.
Do you host wedding ceremonies?
We host wedding receptions rather than ceremonies, so couples usually marry nearby and come to the hall for the celebration afterwards. We are glad to point you towards ceremony venues close by in the Merchant City.
Is the hall accessible?
Fully. A lift serves every floor and access is step-free throughout the building, which makes the first-floor hall one of the more accessible historic event spaces in Glasgow’s Merchant City.
Can you cater and run a bar for our event?
Yes. Catering and a full bar are arranged as part of hall hire and tailored to your event, whether that is a seated dinner, a standing reception or a late party.
Where exactly is the hall?
On the first floor of Hutchesons’ Hall, 158 Ingram Street, in Glasgow’s Merchant City. It is a few minutes’ walk from George Square and Queen Street station, with St Enoch the nearest subway, about five minutes on foot.
